ICB „The Bookkeepers Summit“

The Bookkeepers Summit

Be part of the world’s largest gathering of bookkeepers

The Bookkeepers Summit 2016 delivered inspiration, direction, motivation and fun to 700 bookkeepers across two days; Sunday 2nd and Monday 3rd October.

Sunday was jam-packed full of workshops covering both technical subjects such as CIS, and practical sessions giving you with the tools to build a better business. And there was something for everyone; from students just starting out, to those attending the masterclass who were looking to step it up a gear.

The Summit’s increasing reputation attracted top speakers. Amongst them was last year’s favourite speaker Jennifer Warawa from Sage who flew across the world to return to the Summit stage to tell ICB members how they could shift from being redundant to relevant to indispensable. Laughter was heard all around the QE2 Centre during Tricia Stewart’s presentation in which she told the light-hearted story of the ‘Calendar Girls’. The Summit then closed with a members’ panel chaired by ICB Chief Executive Garry Carter who provided some great insights and announced some exciting plans for the future!

Congratulations all round to the various winners who took home prizes over the two days, most importantly Kim Parks who was the lucky winner of the ICB Smart Car! A special mention also goes to Terry Ramm for winning Student of the Year from Ideal Schools, and the ‘Branch sofa’ Nicola Payne and Janet Haines from South Glamorgan for picking up the coveted Branch Chair of the Year Award.

If you didn’t get a chance to attend this year, make sure you join us next year. And don’t just take our word for it – in our post-Summit survey 100% of those who attended said they would recommend it to a fellow bookkeeper so why not give a go!
